Various enhancements to Service Request fields

Hi peeps,

We're looking to start using the Service Catalog, for some specific request types, so that we can use the "Resource" system to provide much richer forms and gather a lot more information.

However, it currently seems to have some limitations and so I have some suggestions for improvements.

  1. Allow resource fields to be set as mandatory (Actually already requested here. SDF-38568 & SDF-39701)
  2. Add date and numeric fields types (as you can with Additional Fields)
  3. Add lookup fields that can pull data from other parts of SDP (would also be useful for incidents), such as:
  • Other users/requesters (if the request is asking for a resource for someone else)
  • Sites
  • Departments
  • Add the ability for the requester to duplicate resources, so for example:
    • You have a Service Request to provide equipment for a trip, on which you provide a "Laptop" resource with fields for model, who is borrowing it, if it needs cellular data capabilities
    • I would like to have an option where the requester can then click a + icon to add additional laptops with the same fields available to fill in
    Finally (and this isn't field-related, but is to do with Service Request workflows) is it possible to have the first stage of a SR workflow be for a technician to add some information (such as cost) and then start the approval stage(s)?
